Ironsand Titan Boss Strategies

Defeat every colossal war machine with proven tactics and squad coordination.

Last updated:

Titans are the ultimate challenge in Ironsand. Each Titan is a colossal war platform with unique weaponry, combat patterns, and devastating attacks. This guide covers strategies for every Titan encounter in the game.

What Are Titans?

Titans are massive mechanical bosses that serve as the final challenge in each level. They are equipped with:

  • Turrets for sustained fire
  • Missile barrages for area denial
  • Pulse attacks that disrupt player positioning
  • Heavy artillery that can level entire sections of the map

Defeating a Titan requires perfect coordination, smart build choices, and knowledge of their attack patterns.

General Titan Strategy

Regardless of which Titan you face, these principles apply:

1. Study the Attack Pattern

Every Titan has a predictable sequence of attacks. Spend your first attempt learning these patterns rather than trying to deal maximum damage. Note the timing between attacks and identify safe windows for damage.

2. Target Weak Points

Titans have exposed weak points that take increased damage. These are usually:

  • Glowing joints or connection points
  • Exposed power cores visible after certain attacks
  • Weapon systems that can be disabled individually

3. Manage the Adds

While fighting the Titan, standard enemies continue to spawn. Assign one player (usually the Engineer or Medic) to manage adds while the rest of the squad focuses damage on the Titan.

4. Use the Environment

The destructible environment can be used against Titans:

  • Collapse structures onto the Titan for bonus damage
  • Create new cover when existing cover is destroyed
  • Trigger environmental hazards near the Titan

Map 1: The Forward Push

The first Titan encounter takes place on an open desert map with scattered buildings. This Titan features:

  • Standard turret arrays with predictable sweep patterns
  • Missile barrages that target player positions
  • A charging attack that covers a large area

Strategy: Use buildings for cover during missile barrages. The Engineer’s turrets can draw turret fire while the squad flanks. Berserkers should save their burst for the missile reload phase.

Map 2: The Arena

The second map is an arena where you defend a position while a massive cannon charges. The Titan here features:

  • Endless waves of enemies alongside the Titan
  • Pulse attacks that push players out of position
  • Heavy artillery strikes in fixed patterns

Strategy: The Defender shines here with shields to protect the cannon position. Medics must prioritize healing during artillery phases. Engineers should place turrets at chokepoints to manage enemy waves.

Map 3: The Depths

The darkest and most dangerous map features maze-like corridors, lava streams, and radioactive mutants. The final boss here is equipped with:

  • A full arsenal of heavy weapons
  • Radioactive mutant allies that attack alongside the Titan
  • Extremely high damage output with no room for error

Strategy: This is the hardest Titan in the game. All four classes should coordinate perfectly. Use the narrow corridors to funnel enemies and create safe zones. The Medic is essential for surviving the sustained damage.

Squad Composition for Titans

The optimal Titan-killing squad includes:

  • Engineer: Turrets provide consistent damage during all phases
  • Medic: Keeps the team alive through sustained damage phases
  • Berserker: Deals burst damage during safe windows
  • Defender/Flex: Shields for protection or another damage dealer for speed
